MusicLM is Google’s tool that uses artificial intelligence to generate music. Designed to produce high-quality tracks, MusicLM is able to generate music from a text description, called a prompt, or from an existing melody.

This technology can transform texts into music and is accessible on the web, Android and iOS through the AI ​​Test Kitchen application.

Users can choose from several features to create their music, including generating audio from a rich and complex description, long generation and story mode.

MusicLM is based on a previous AI model, AudioLM, presented by Google in October 2022, as well as on other services such as SoundStream and MuLan. It is thus able to take existing pieces of sound and match them to words to create a musical composition.

For the moment, the generation is only open on a waiting list to a selection of users.
